What is hydrotherapy?
Hydrotherapy is the treatment of animals in water. Animals can be exercised without having to fully weight bear on injured areas and can aid in recoery times. It also helps animals to keep fit and provides mental enrichment.
The benefits of hydrotherapy treatment can include:
increased blood circulation which eases muscle stiffness and pain
anti-inflammatory effects due to the pressure of the water
builds muscle mass and strength from the water resistance
aid in post-op recovery times
improve quality of life and metal wellbeing and release endorphins
The patient's time in the water may vary as hydrotherapy treatement can be more cardiovasculalry- demanding for your pet. Inital sessions may start shorter and length of treatment may increase with further consults.

Underwater Treadmill
Our underwater treadmill can be benefiical whilst treating patients as the water level, speed and incline can be controlled and so it can be adapted to the needs of your pet. The water is heated to 30 degrees Celcius and is tested regularly to ensure it is fully sanitised.
